Spatial audio design

In virtual reality, spatial audio provides users with the ability to hear in three dimensions just as they do in outside of VR. Up until now, spatial audio solutions for VR were only horizontal, but now with the Google VR SDK, sound all around including above and below.

At Google I/O 2016, the Google spatial audio engineers and I introduce how spatial audio works and provide UX considerations for how to add spatial audio to VR experiences. We also cover the workflow and tools needed.

If you're ready to get started, check out the Spatial Audio Guidelines we published for developers.
