2D UI’s in VR

 
 

When we think of VR, our minds naturally gravitate towards three-dimensional environments and interactions. That being said, it’s often more efficient to display information in 2D, especially when browsing large amounts of content.

At Google I/O 2017, Chris McKenzie and I shared techniques the Daydream team uses to create legible, usable 2D interfaces in VR. We also introduce new workflows, new units, and highlight interaction opportunities and pitfalls.
